You’ll be happy to hear that two of the nonhooved residents at our Home for Retired Bullocks were adopted into loving homes last month. The young cat pictured above is Rambo, shown at the home of the lovely couple who adopted him. He has grown so fast. You may recall that he came to us in April while he was still a small kitten, as seen below.

A boy had seen Rambo running toward a busy road and saved him, but when his mother wouldn’t let him keep the kitten, he called Animal Rahat—having been given our phone number by our humane educator during a classroom presentation at his school.

We were also able to find a wonderful guardian to adopt Raja, who was one of the dogs we recently rescued from the Rajkamal Circus. We neutered both Rambo and Raja prior to adoption, of course. We also carefully screened their new guardians and procured promises that they would only let the animals outside when they were with them and would keep them indoors otherwise. This is a major change for this region, in which most people allow their animals to roam freely 24/7—which is how they wind up getting hit by cars or encountering myriad other dangers.
