Until recently, villagers in Bavachi, Maharashtra, struggled to manage a growing population of “community dogs.” Unsterilized, unvaccinated, and suffering from untreated injuries and illnesses, these animals needed help—and fast.

Animal Rahat took on the challenge and worked with the villagers to develop a plan. One month and over 150 surgeries later, 100% of the dogs have been sterilized!

Watch this story unfold in Animal Rahat’s new video and discover how the group improved the quality of life for all the dogs in this village:

So far, Animal Rahat’s sterilization program has spayed or neutered every dog in more than 20 villages—but many other communities still need the group’s assistance. Please make a special gift right now and help it reach more animals in need.

Like the other villages in which 100% of the community dogs have been sterilized, Bavachi received a celebratory banner, which it proudly and prominently displays.
