When police in Solapur learned that a dog had tumbled into a 7-foot-deep dry drainage chamber and had no way to get out, they knew who to call for help—Animal Rahat.

As you can imagine, he was eager to be rescued.

An Animal Rahat veterinarian jumped down into the chamber to retrieve him and carefully handed him up to a staff member aboveground.

The lively dog—now named Bidhu—was certainly grateful to be rescued, licking the staff and wagging his tail. His friendly disposition made rescuing him quick and easy! The team covered the drainage chamber to prevent other animals from falling in and then returned to the office with Bidhu. He enjoyed a nutritious meal before a relaxing overnight stay at the office, where he was neutered the next day.

After he’d fully recovered from his surgery and been medically cleared, Bidhu was given one more meal before being warned to stay away from holes in the ground and sent on his way.
