Welcome to the Waldorf Catoria Sangli!

Twenty cats and kittens rescued by Animal Rahat friends at PETA India needed a home in a hurry, so staff at the Sangli sanctuary swung into action, swiftly transforming an existing structure into a large, sunny cattery! The newest residents’ hall is furnished with hanging swings, padded perches, climbing trees, sand tubs, and all manner of scratching posts. However, it took a couple of weeks of intensive veterinary care before the cats could fully enjoy their new surroundings. Where did they come from? When PETA India worked with authorities to raid an illegal pet store and breeding operation, they found more than 200 wild and domestic animals in filthy metal cages with no food or water, suffering from respiratory infections, wounds, paralysis, distemper, and numerous other ailments, including these cats. All the animals are now on the mend.
