As soon as the team arrived, they knew this was going to be a difficult rescue. Two dog pals had tumbled into a craggy, 40-foot-deep well. There was nothing the rescuers could anchor their ropes to, but with the clock ticking, a far-off tree served a purpose. Drawing on his considerable experience, one of the rescuers scrambled down the steep wall with nets in tow. The first of the friends proved easy to catch, and the rescue team hoisted him to the surface. But the second pup panicked, darting and dodging every rescue attempt. After many tries, the persistent rescuer managed to secure his net around the dog’s body, even as he jerked, jumped, and tried to flee. Back at the clinic, the pair received vaccinations, baths, and neuter surgeries, along with hearty meals and plenty of affection.
