For nearly four days, a cat struggled to climb up the steep sides of an open well near his home into which he had fallen before the Satara branch of Animal Rahat heard about his plight and rushed to the scene. The rescuers first constructed a zhoola – a swing made of a large bamboo stick that has ropes tied to both ends – and then carefully descended into the well. The terrified cat eluded them several times, falling back into the water. But after nearly an hour of attempts, the team was able to catch the animal using a net and returned him to land, where he was reunited with his guardian. The rescuers provided the cat with food, water, and a veterinary check, finding that he had not sustained any serious injuries during the ordeal. Watch this wonderful rescue here:
