In Karnataka, 450 primary school students were enthusiastic about joining an essay competition after learning how to help and be kind to dogs, cats, donkeys, and others when an Animal Rahat educational officer visited their schools to conduct Compassionate Citizen workshops. The students wrote passionately about what they had learned using the prompts “Animals are not here for our amusement” and “The life of animals on the streets,” and school officials were grateful for the lessons on empathy.
