We wanted to include a few “before” and “after” photos to illustrate the dramatic difference that our veterinarians make in the lives of animals.

This bullock had an enormous melanoma on his temple that was hurting him. Our vets surgically removed the tumor, and here is the handsome patient after a full recovery. A histopathology report confirmed that the tumor was malignant—thank goodness we got it!

We had an unusually high number of bullocks with yoke gall this past month. Yoke gall is a painful abscess caused when a wooden yoke doesn’t fit properly and rubs the bullock’s neck. Above you can see an abscess before and after it was surgically drained by one of our vets. Think about how much pain can be caused by one little blister on your foot. Now imagine how much something this size would hurt.

After treating each case, our vets ensure that owners allow their bullocks enough time to heal and adjust their yokes to fit properly in order to prevent their wounds from recurring.
