This image shows a village dog with three large porcupine quills stabbed into his chest and shoulder.
No more waiting on (porcupine) pins and needles for this affable lad.

The Solapur rescue team received an urgent call about a dog who had learned the hard way that porcupines guard their space. A staff veterinarian immediately sedated him and took him to the closest field office for emergency surgery. Three quills were deeply embedded in his shoulder but hadn’t caused serious damage, and the team was pleased to discover that he was one of their former patients who had already been neutered. With pain medicine, vaccinations, vitamins, rest, and, of course, a generous amount of food, the old man was soon on the mend and headed back to his village.
