One of the most exhilarating moments for any staff member is removing a bullock’s heavy yoke, a horse’s painful bit, or a donkey’s crippling brick hod for good. Retirement was especially sweet for Rachna, who welcomed baby Phoenix not long after arriving. At our Gundlupet sanctuary, she was able to rest, heal, and tend to her foal, who will grow up with the freedom every animal deserves.
