Several bullock owners were invited to the Sangli sanctuary recently to see how the residents live happily and without fear of humans. Caretakers showed the villagers the free-roam sheds, where animals can roam about without being tied down and are able to socialize with one another. Staff also demonstrated how the animals are never beaten or yanked around. When the animals didn’t shy away from the caretakers’ hands, the owners had a revelation: They saw how animals trust humans when they are given the respect and gentleness they deserve.
