A cow looks at the camera after being reunited with her herd.
This precious girl was grunting in pain when Animal Rahat rescuers spotted her.

The rescue team learned that a member of a herd of free-roaming cows had a jagged can stuck in her jaw and rushed to help. The herd was protective of her, and the slightest movement toward her would send them all running to her defense.

Thinking on their feet, one of the rescuers slowly belly-crawled through the brush to get close enough to sedate her. Success!

They moved her to a temporary location nearby to tend to the scrapes and cuts around her mouth. Before too long, the team took her back home. Imagine the relief she and her friends felt when she rejoined them—can-free!
