This sweet calf had fallen victim to barbed wire fencing, and his legs became entwined in the hideous stuff. He must have felt each jab of the sharp spikes digging into his sensitive skin as he struggled to free himself.

After a tip to Animal Rahat’s emergency line about his predicament, the rescue team arrived and untangled the wire trapping his legs. They gently treated his wounds with antiseptic and a painkiller before giving him a large bucket of clean water to drink.

He paused for a brief moment to make eye contact with one of his rescuers, tilted his head, and ran off to be with his family, which was waiting nearby.
