Position Objective:
- Develop and execute social media and public relations strategies to increase Animal Rahat’s online presence, secure media coverage, and raise public awareness of Animal Rahat’s work.
- Create impactful content, using photography, videography and editing tools, that increases Animal Rahat’s audience online and its impact through the media while analysing metrics to optimize future strategies and public relations efforts.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Social Media:
- Use photography, videography and editing tools to develop social media content for all platforms where Animal Rahat has presence, showcasing Animal Rahat’s sanctuaries and other work.
- Design, write, and schedule posts that engage Animal Rahat’s audience, promotes their initiatives, and highlights the stories of the animals rescued and residing in its sanctuaries.
- Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries, fostering a positive and supportive online presence.
- Track and analyse social media performance, providing insights and developing strategies for improvement.
- Identify and engage with influencers, partners, and other collaborators to expand our reach and support.
- Understand and apply legal compliance on the use of photos and videos.
Public Relations:
- Identify story ideas to pitch Animal Rahat’s rescues and other efforts to the media.
- Secure placement by developing relationships with journalists and making follow-up calls.
- Coordinate the preparation of news releases and pitches including their translation.
- Ensure all photo and video components are ready for media pitches as required.
- Build, maintain and manage all contact databases for the media outreach.
- Develop target lists for each media pitch.
Other:
- Travel to Animal Rahat sites regularly and as required to develop content
- Participate and give meaningful input at brainstorming meetings regarding outreach strategy
- Maintain neat, clear, well-labelled records of documents, photography, videography
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Excellent photography, videography and editing skills including relevant technical know-how
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with an eye for compelling visuals
- Proven experience in social media management, public relations, photography and videography
- Knowledge of animal welfare issues and a passion for promoting compassion towards animals
- Ability to work independently, manage a variety of projects, and meet deadlines
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Adherence to a vegan, animal-friendly lifestyle
- Support for Animal Rahat’s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate Animal Rahat’s positions on issues
